Lake & Swimming Fun

On August 17th we got to have a fun family day at the Lake. Aiden really enjoyed swimming. We put him in his little boat and he wasn't so sure of it, but then he realized he could sit back and relax, and he had a blast!!! Since then we have taken Aiden to the gym 2 times to swim. He likes to do the "froggy kick"!!!!!!

"I'm just a swinging!!"

"Isn't my daddy the greatest!"

"I'm not so sure about this... it seems kind of cold?!?"

"Hey, what is this daddy?"

"Ahh, the life...this is great, um...can we do this EVERYDAY?!?!?!?!!!!!"
We had a blast that day!!!!!

(Sorry just trying to get these pics to work, getting the hang of it! Can't delete this one)

Aiden's EEG!!!!

Today at 4:30am we got Aiden up to get ready for his sleep deprived EEG!! He did a great job staying awake till 8:30 with Grandma on our 1 hour car ride to the neurologist. When we got there they hooked him up to 26 electrodes and wrapped gauze around his head. Aiden did not like the people messing with his head and fussed a little, but was a good trouper through it all. When the electrodes were in place Aiden ate and fell right asleep. 5 minutes into the EEG Aiden had one of the tremors so we got it on video and on the brain waves. Aiden was wonderful, a great little baby!!! The doctor confirmed what he thought, it was the Benign Sleep Myoclonin, which means that when he is really tired he will twitch. Aiden may or may not outgrow it...Years down the road he may end up waking his wife up in bed from it. So good news!!!! Just thought I would update you!
Aiden just after waking up from EEG!!
I couldn't get this pic to go away, sorry

All hooked up to wires!!!

Aidem is a happy boy now!!! Love the hair do!!!

Neurological Visit

Just wanted to let you know about Aiden & his Tremors...
To all who didn't know what was going on, in the last month Aiden has had tremors (head & arm shaking lasting about 10 seconds, stopping and then another lasting 3-5 seconds)The last time he had it was last Saturday Aug. 2. The tremors usually occur when Aiden is very tired or missed a nap, and it has alwaysoccured while Aiden was nursing. Anyways, after his tremor last Saturday I called our clinic and talked to a nurse. She told us to go to theER with Aiden to get him seen. The doctor at the ER said that he checked out wonderfully (he was smiling and flirting with her), and to see ourDoctor within the next week. Aiden and I then went to the doc on Wednesday. In our family there is a history of seizures, so the doctor referredus to a neurologist. We went to the neurologist this morning! He said that the tremors or 'spells' that Aiden was having were the result of Benign Sleep Myoclonus, which is similar to the way we as adults jerk awake when we are trying to sleep!!! So far that is great news. The doctor was a little concerned withAndy's history of feberel (spelling?) seizures that he had when he was a child. He said that since Andy had feberel seizures that they are very hereditaryand that Aiden has a very high chance of those. He said that with feberel seizures the child has like 2-3 seizures by the time they are 3 (possibly up to 12) years old and they out grow them (As you can see Andy is a very healthy guy). So on August 27, Aiden is having a sleep deprived EEG to check to make sure thetremors were the Benign Sleep Myoclonus, and to check for feberel seizures. The neurologist also suggested that we do not vacinate him with the Pertussisvacination till he is over 3 because it is related to feberel seizures. Aiden has already had two doses of this vaccine, but the neurologist suggested no more for a while. So to end the story, everything is going good here! Aiden is a very healthy boy! He already has two teeth and is working VERY hard on sitting up!Please keep him in your prayers on August 27, because it will be a very rough day for him... we have to keep him awake for 4 hours in the early morning, and then he has his EEG where they put 23 electrodes on him for 1 1/2 hours.
Thank you!
